About us

Due to global warming and the disastrous future consequences for humankind and global ecosystems, the community of countries agreed in the world climate conference 2016 in Paris on important goals to limit the increase of global temperature to a maximum of 1.5°C. In line with this agreement the impact of an increasing mobility sector on climate was discussed. Both, great industrialized countries as China and the European States as well as many of the emerging states want to be part of the solution and participate in the change from fossil fuels (vehicles running by gasoline, diesel or gas) to electro mobility.

The development of e-mobility is now one of the main topics of discussion worldwide and a main focus for the automobile industry. It is expected that in the next ten years there will be a great amount of electric vehicles available in the market. Hence the prices for such kind of vehicles will lower and cars fuelled by electricity will become affordable for everyone. Moreover, the massive research and development of new battery technologies also contribute to an e-mobility that will assert itself against the conventional technologies.

In the first place, the company Ecoenergy SAC is a company that aims to introduce new, regenerative technologies into the market of Peru, including thermal solar energy, photo-voltaic, biofuels as well as e-mobility. These kinds of technologies have already been developed and tested in the western world up to their maturity phase. The main task for Ecoenergy SAC therefore lies on determining which of these technologies are technically and economically applicable in Peru.

Until 2014 the company mostly dealt with the biofuel extracted from the Jatropha Curcas (physic nut) plant and has therefore a great knowledge in cultivation and farming of oil plants, the extraction of oil and in the technology of diesel engine adaptation so that these can be driven by pure plant oil. Unfortunately this technology is, due to the current low prices of petroleum, not economically viable in Peru yet. For this reason Ecoenergy shifted its focus to e-mobility in 2014. Here two aspects are of vital importance: 1. the state of technology in the industrialized countries and 2. the possible potential of the market in Peru. Special attention was put on the so called mototaxis (three-wheeled motorcycles used for person transportation) in Pucallpa. More information is available on the e-mobility page.
